PostSubject: KISS's Christine Sixteen   Tue Feb 03, 2009 10:48 am

I heard this on satellite radio this morning on the way into work. Granted it was written a hundred years ago at the height of the sexally liberated, coked-out, leisure-suited, sign your daughter over to a man in a buck-skin loincloth 70's, but could a creepier song be written...

I dont usually say things like this to girls your age, but when I saw you
Coming out of the school that day, that day I knew, I knew, Ive got to have
You, Ive got to have you.

Shes been around, but shes young and clean
Ive got to have her, cant live without her, whoo no
Christine sixteen, christine sixteen

Hear Gene sing these words this morning made my skin crawl. Could you imagine trying to get this song on the radio today? Sure, R. Kelly's made a career out of it, but I'd like to see someone like Nickelback try and slip this one past Clear Channel.

Hahaha, yea, that's a creepy one. How'bout the Beatles' "I Saw Her Standing There"...

"She was just seventeen, you know what I mean..."

Well, what DID he mean? "So smooth, so soft, so firmly packed... when she gets out of cheerleading practice she's going to meet Mister Rape Kit in the trunk of my car..."

...and people say Ted Nugent is a pedophile. Whatever, any of those guys back then would have loved a 16 year old girl except for Paul Stanley. He would have loved to attend a Boy Scout meeting.

Dude, you want frickin' creepy, check out this little gem from the Fab Four

Run for Your Life
Well I'd rather see you dead, little girl
Than to be with another man
You better keep your head, little girl
Or I won't know where I am

You better run for your life if you can, little girl
Hide your head in the sand little girl
Catch you with another man
That's the end'a little girl

Well you know that I'm a wicked guy
And I was born with a jealous mind
And I can't spend my whole life
Trying just to make you toe the line

You better run for your life if you can, little girl
Hide your head in the sand little girl
Catch you with another man
That's the end'a little girl

Let this be a sermon
I mean everything I've said
Baby, I'm determined
And I'd rather see you dead

You better run for your life if you can, little girl
Hide your head in the sand little girl
Catch you with another man
That's the end'a little girl

I'd rather see you dead, little girl
Than to be with another man
You better keep your head, little girl
Or you won't know where I am

You better run for your life if you can, little girl
Hide your head in the sand little girl
Catch you with another man
That's the end'a little girl

The very concept of restraining orders is based on that song right there. It might not have been one of the Beatles biggest hits, but it goes to show you that even the most heinous of lyrics don't mean squat if the song has a good beat and you can dance to it. Cartman

It's not Gene's fault that Sixteen is the only age rhyming with Christine Rolling Eyes

Razz

Dr. Hook has a line in one of his song: "She was too young to take to bed"

and we used to add: "so I f**ked her on the floor instead!"

That was one thing that always made me wonder about Mark Slaughter, every song was about a little girl

The first verse of Aqualung:

Sitting on a park bench --
Eying little girls with bad intent.
Snot running down his nose --
Greasy fingers smearing shabby clothes.
Drying in the cold sun --
Watching as the frilly panties run.

Yeah, but Ian Anderson isn't singing from a 1st person perspective, so it's much less creepy.

That Beatles song is basically a variation of a traditional blues lyric.

Oh heck yea. I've been listening to a lot of blues lately on sattelite radio and some of those lyrics from those old songs are downright filthy, but they were so cleverly worded that noone apparently noticed. Stuff like guys talking about "everyone parking their car in my garage" or "everyone's dipping their spoons in my lady's soup". And blues songs about killing your old lady ain't nothing new. But it's just funny that such an upbeat tune from the Beatles could have such dark lyrics. John Lennon was a dark dude.

I have a collection of "race records" from the late 20's & early 30's (that's what they used to call them). Here are some choice titles.

"It's tight like that"
"My girl's pussy"
"New rubbin' on that darn old thing"
"Wet It"
"My Daddy Rocks me with One Steady Roll"
"Please warm my weiner"
"Sissy man blues"
"You can't tell the difference after dark"
"Shave 'em dry"

No wonder the white community was in such an uproar when their kids starting listening to such depravity. Even the term "rock n' roll" was a euphamism for fucking. Twisted Evil
